Towards a much leaner Mac

So far, I’m having a great time with all of this. I’ve moved all of my code into a subversion repository so that it’s all backed up, accessible from anywhere, and off my machine — everything except the projects with which I am currently tinkering. I’ve also gotten rid of some applications and taken everything off my menu bar except a few essentials: the time, wireless connection strength, battery power, and sound. Anyone know how to get rid of the Sync icon if you’re not using MobileMe?
